Asalha Bucha Day falls on the full moon day of the eighth lunar month each year. In 2026, it is observed on Wednesday, July 29. This important Buddhist holy day commemorates the occasion when the Triple Gem—the Buddha, the Dhamma, and the Sangha—was fully established.

On this day, the Buddha delivered His first sermon, the Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta, which introduces the Four Noble Truths :
