The Isoscan AC series is designed for measuring small parts and thin materials such as wires, films, and surface treatments. Its main feature is the precise measurement of the indentation, calculated using an optical digital reading system that can detect all the vertices of the indentation left by the diamond indenter with extreme accuracy. It performs measurements on the Vickers and Knoop scales. The 136° diamond pyramid indenter is suitable for all types of metals, regardless of hardness, and the testing cycle is fully electronic, complying with ISO 6507-2 and ASTM E384 standards.

The Isoscan series is highly precise, capable of accurately measuring thin thicknesses, wires, films, and small details on materials of various kinds. It finds applications across a wide range of industrial and scientific sectors. Among the main users are companies in the aerospace industry, where precision in measuring critical components is essential for ensuring performance and safety. The automotive industry, especially in research and development or quality control departments, also requires such tools to assess the hardness of innovative materials and check the compliance of small components. Electronics is another field where miniaturization of parts requires equipment with extremely high precision to test materials used in circuits, cables, and protective films.

The pharmaceutical and biomedical industries use these instruments to control the quality of medical devices, packaging films, and advanced materials used in prosthetics and surgical instruments. In the polymer and plastics industry, highly precise hardness testers are essential for characterizing flexible or rigid materials used in applications ranging from packaging to furniture. The composite materials industry, often employing high-performance applications, also requires tools capable of analyzing microscopic details with a high degree of accuracy. Additionally, chemical companies and entities specializing in nanotechnology benefit from these measurements for the development of new materials and coatings.

Finally, scientific research in university labs and specialized institutes represents another area of application, where the need to analyze materials on a microscopic scale or with complex geometries makes precision hardness testers indispensable for providing reliable data for advanced experiments.

The Isoscan AC version is an advanced automatic microhardness tester that allows the determination of Vickers microhardness of a sample by automatically measuring the diagonals of the indentation directly generated by the instrument. This system ensures high reliability and speed of measurement, fully complying with ISO 6507-2 and ASTM E384 standards. The device uses an automatic system to apply the load and generate the indentation, integrating an optical unit with LED lighting and a high-resolution digital camera to accurately read the indentations. The reading can be performed in two modes: automatic, where the system locates the indentation and automatically measures the diagonals to determine the hardness, and manual, where the operator places the reference grid on the vertices of the indentation, and the system calculates the hardness value.

All software operations are managed via a flat-screen monitor, mouse, and keyboard, which serve as the primary interface for the user. The monitor allows the control of operations, viewing of acquired data, and analysis management. The included software, compatible with the latest versions of Windows, guides the user simply and intuitively through all operations, enabling fully automated measurement of hardness profiles and effective thickness. Among the software functions are selecting the specimen's edge line, programming the direction and orientation of the indentations using a goniometric reference, and performing multiple linked hardness profiles. The system also allows the management and analysis of multiple profiles, with the generation of overlapping graphs, and verification of the shape factor of the indentation according to UNI standards, with the possibility to repeat measurements if the indentations are deformed or unclear.

An advanced function of the system is the "Panorama" feature, which allows capturing panoramic images of the specimen or a specific area through a motorized scan with the macro lens (10x). This feature, available with an additional license, allows inspecting the specimen and selecting the initial positions for the hardness profile edges, as well as verifying the expected and actual positions of the indentations.

Additionally, the system offers the "Matrice" function, useful for studying welds or large surfaces, allowing the definition of matrix profiles with indentations spaced at a set distance from each other. This module is only available with the "Panorama" license and also allows the automatic calculation of the number of profiles required for the test.

The Isoscan CN microhardness testers, in addition to the features of the AC version, are equipped with advanced numerical control functions, including X-Y table movement and automatic focusing, ensuring even more precise measurements and optimized use in applications that require high precision and automation.
